"The EU and the UN on Wednesday called on Israel to stop Jewish building in east Jerusalem in response to the publication last week of tenders for 130 new units in the Har Homa neighborhood [...] UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman also spoke out against the tenders, which the Construction and Housing Ministry published on its website Thursday." "The reputation of the United Nations has hit new lows in the past decade – the Oil for Food debacle, the peacekeeping scandal in the Congo, the downfall of the dismal Commission on Human Rights (now the increasingly discredited Human Rights Council) – the list is endless. The UN has become a byword for corruption, mismanagement and the appeasement of dictatorial regimes. Following in this rich tradition, the United Nations has decided to send Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to attend the summit of the Nonaligned Movement in Tehran next week, where he will “meet with senior Iranian leaders, including Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The UN Secretary General is sending completely the wrong signal by hobnobbing with the leadership of a barbaric rogue regime that is hell-bent on acquiring nuclear weapons while threatening to wipe an entire nation off the map. It is also a tyranny that is actively preparing to escalate terrorist attacks against Western targets.” (lees hier)
"The fact is that Mr. Ban is under no obligation to go to Tehran now – and certainly not when the mullahs are pumping weapons, funds and intelligence into the hands of Assad forces who are bombarding innocent women and children in Hama, Aleppo and Damascus, harming millions of lives.” “Iran practices international terrorism, subjugates women, persecutes minorities, rapes dissidents, rigs elections, denies the Holocaust [...]. Mr. Ban’s visit wrongy hands legitimacy and propaganda points to the forces of repression in Tehran.” (lees hier)Maar natuurlijk.
