De Betekenis Van Liefdadigheid

The Jerusalem Post, maandag 10\09\2012:

"Hezbollah has between 60 and 70 thousand rockets aimed at Israel, Defense Ministry Diplomatic-Security chief Amos Gilad said Monday. Speaking at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism's World Summit, Gilad said the Lebanese terrorist organization has stockpiled rockets of various types, and its arsenal is far more robust than the one it had prior to the Second Lebanon War. "The next war will be aimed against the home front," Gilad warned." (lees hier)

En dit is hoe onze vrienden bij de EU tegen de Hezbollah aankijken:

"Hezbollah is "an organization that comprises a political party and a social services network as well as an armed wing," Ms. Kozakou-Marcoullis said last week, recounting official EU policy." (lees hier)

"[...] the European Union continues to define Hizbollah as a charitable and political group, not a terrorist organisation." (lees hier)

Als je deze berichten zo bij elkaar leest, zou je bijna gaan denken dat ze daar bij de EU jodendoden als een vorm van liefdadigheid beschouwen. Dat is natuurlijk niet zo, maar het is wel duidelijk dat de EU in dit geval de betekenis van het begrip liefdadigheid zodanig uitrekt, dat het nog nauwelijks iets betekent. Volgens deze definitie van de EU zou men Nazi Duitsland ook als een liefdadigheidsorganisatie moeten beschouwen.

Gelukkig zijn er binnen de EU ook een aantal politici die de oorspronkelijke betekenis van het begrip liefdadigheid nog weten.
