Intellectuele Crisis Afgewend

Toen ik eerder op de dag hoorde dat het kabinet tegen de opwaardering van de status van de Palestijnse Autoriteit bij de VN was, viel ik bijna van mijn stoel. De wereld stond op zijn kop! "Kan een Nubiër zijn huid veranderen, of een panter zijn vlekken?", vroeg ik me af. Heb ik me zo enorm verkeken op de doelen en het intellect van dit kabinet? Maar gelukkig is er snel een einde gekomen aan deze verwarring:

"Een opwaardering van de status van de Palestijnse Autoriteit bij de Verenigde Naties is op dit moment 'niet opportuun', maar het kabinet is hier 'niet principieel' op tegen. Dat zei minister Frans Timmermans van Buitenlandse Zaken donderdag in een debat in de Tweede Kamer." (lees hier)

Gelukkig, ik ben niet gek. Onze versgekozen kabinet, de belichaming van onze democratische rechten en vrijheden, is in principe niet tegen de opwaardering van de status van de Palestijnse Autoriteit, wiens ongekozen "president" de kiemen van een Palestijnse rechtstaat en de democratische rechten van zijn eigen burgers doelbewust op grove wijze vertrapt:

"In an unprecedented move, Palestinian judges in the West Bank this week went on strike in protest against the Palestinian Authority's repeated attempts to meddle in the internal affairs of the judiciary system. The judges' protest shows that the Palestinian Authority is making a mockery of the courts in the West Bank. Moreover, it shows that the Palestinian Authority leadership wants the judges to issue verdicts that do not embarrass or harm senior Palestinian officials." (lees hier)

"A Palestinian commission of inquiry into the beating of Palestinian journalists and demonstrators in Ramallah has found that top officials in Mahmoud Abbas's office had ordered the assault. The discovery did not come as a surprise to many Palestinians, who have long been accusing the Palestinian leadership in the West Bank of waging a campaign of intimidation and terror against journalists, bloggers and political opponents." Gelukkig, ik ben mijn verstand niet kwijt. Onze wereldkampioenen nivelleren zijn in principe niet tegen de opwaardering van de status van de Palestijnse Autoriteit, die haar eigen burgers besteelt en arm houdt:

"At a time when many Western governments, the World Bank and various international organizations are continuing to heap praise on the Palestinian Authority for implementing reforms, the deputy speaker of the Palestinian parliament, Hasan Khreishah, announced that financial and administrative corruption was now more widespread than ever.[...] the Palestinian government is in fact lying when it talks about a financial crisis; its main goal is to get Western and Arab donors to channel more funds to Ramallah: "Corruption in the Palestinian Authority is more widespread than in the past," he said." "For years, the Palestinian Authority has been demanding that Israel lift travel restrictions imposed on West Bank Palestinians, but now that Israel has permitted tens of thousands of Muslims to visit its beaches and malls, Israel is being denounced. What is clear is that neither the Palestinian Authority nor Hamas wants to see Palestinians living a good life. Improving the living standards of Palestinians is something that these two parties are not interested in. They would rather see Palestinians direct all their anger and frustration only toward Israel." (lees hier)

Gelukkig, mijn brein functioneert. Onze grote bezuinigers, die de Nederlandse burgers om grote economische offers vragen, zijn in principe niet tegen de opwaardering van de status van de Palestijnse Autoriteit, die honderden miljoenen aan Nederlandse belastinggeld verkwanselt aan corruptie, genocidale en racistische propaganda en de sponsoring van terreur:

“Marcus and Zilberdik began their in-depth review of PA-approved media in May 2010, to determine how the PA responded to its commitments as put forth by the Quartet: to espouse nonviolence, to recognize the Jewish State of Israel, and to accept it as a partner for peace. […] the overwhelming conclusion was that messages put out directly or indirectly by the PA reflected a total abrogation of commitments to their own people,’ […] The book details hundreds of examples of cultural, educational and media sources that promote messages of hate among Palestinians and undermine the peace process with Israel. "Blood stains could be seen up and down the stairwell of the Kiryat Malachi building where three Israelis were killed by a Gaza rocket on Thursday morning, and in the apartments on the top two floors the damage and disarray appeared almost as if a tornado had crashed into the building and scattered everything asunder." Gelukkig. Ik ben gerustgesteld. In Nederland is alles zoals het hoort te zijn. De Timmermansen van dit land zijn nog altijd in Lalaland. Intellectuele crisis afgewend.
